Vega Leads The Way As Amsterdam Cruise Past Dublin

AH&BC Amsterdam cruised into the semi-finals with a convincing 8-0 win over University College Dublin in the second quarter-final.

Amsterdam took the lead from their first attack, Kelly Jonker rifling the ball into the roof of the net from very short range after just 15 seconds. In the ninth minute, Julia Müller converted Amsterdam’s first penalty corner at the second attempt, poking home the rebound after UCD goalkeeper, Clodagh Cassin saved the initial effort.

Further goals from Charlotte Vega in the 18th minute and Maria Verschoor in the 20th minute put Amsterdam fully in control with a 4-0 half time lead.

Three minutes into the second half, Vega converted a penalty corner at the right post, Amsterdam leading 5-0 going into the final quarter.

Jonker scored her second goal of the game in the 49th minute, Vega completed her hat-trick a minute later and Verschoor also scored for a second time with three minutes to play, Amsterdam to clinch a semi-final match-up with UHC Hamburg.
