Japan and South Africa join India and USA in semi-finals

Bhubaneswar, India: With a win over Poland today, Japan will play India in an all-Asian semi-final. The other semi-final will see South Africa, who qualified after defeating Russia today, take on USA. Both European teams will play the match for the 5th place. All games are scheduled on 14 June.

Irish Women dominate play in Havelock to secure Semi-final spot on Saturday.

Through to Saturday’s semi-final, an 11-0 win saw the Irish Women dominate play for the entire game with Singapore rarely managing to bring play down into the Irish half of the pitch. The majority of the game comprised of free moving, attacking hockey from the host nation, keeping Singapore under pressure throughout.

KOOKABURRAS HELD TO A 2-2 DRAW IN LONDON

Australia conceded the bonus point to Great Britain in a 4-3 shootout after regulation time ended in a 2-2 draw in London on Sunday night. Australia came from behind twice through goals to Jake Harvie and Tim Brand, though a yellow card to Tom Craig late in the final quarter made for a nervous finish to regulation time.

Scotland beaten by Korea in match two of FIH Series Finals

Despite a great start to the match Scotland women were beaten 3-1 by Korea in their second contest of the FIH Series Finals in Banbridge.

Irish Women get their FIH Series Final off to Strong Start with 2 – 1 win over Malaysia.

Bethany Barr put Ireland on the scoreboard early on with a goal in the forth minute, deflected from the penalty corner, on her major tournament debut.

Ireland Senior Men Draw 1-1 with France in Lisnagarvey in first of Two-Match Series.

Ireland 1 (S O’Donoghue) France 1 (H Genestet)

A goal from Shane O’Donoghue in the 42nd minute saw Ireland take the lead in third quarter against France at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club, in the first of this two-match series. However, Frenchman Hugo Genestet equalised with the last play of the game following seven consecutive penalty corners dragging high to Harte’s right post.
