Teams from coast to coast compete for a national title
The Field Hockey Canada National Championships starts this week in Brampton, Ontario. Leading with the U18 women’s and men’s divisions, this week will be an exciting test for the countries next generation of hockey superstars. The U16 division will take place August 9-13.
Six teams, two from BC, Team Alberta, Team Ontario, Team PEI, and Team New Brunswick make up the Women’s U18 Division. The Men’s Division will feature a four-team competition between BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec.
The ten teams will do battle at Cassie Campbell Field in Brampton, Ontario from July 26-30. The Cassie Campbell Community Centre in Brampton, Ontario opened its water-based turf field in 2013. This facility has not only become a hub for the local field hockey community but has also gained national recognition as a quality venue for major field hockey events.
National Championships is an opportunity for young athletes to get national-level competition experience, as well as showcase their talents to national team evaluators. This tournament helps open the door for young athletes to enter Junior National and Senior National pathways within the Field Hockey Canada pipeline.
