India win the FIH Series Finals Hiroshima after all-Asia clash with Japan

Hiroshima, Japan: In the match for third place, Chile and Russia entertained the spectators with a tightly contested and exciting game. Although Chile went into the lead, it was Russia who showed the resilience to get the game back on equal terms and then take the win in the shoot-out, finishing their FIH Series Finals campaign on a high.

Germany women finish regular season with away victory over USA

Germany’s women will go into next week’s FIH Pro League Grand Final event in Amsterdam on the back of a hard-earned 3-2 away victory against a spirited USA team on Saturday evening, with goals from Hannah Granitzki, Franzisca Hauke and Rebecca Grote giving Xavier Reckinger’s team all three points in front of a sell-out crowd at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Matla strike downs Argentina as Netherlands women secure first place finish

Frederique Matla’s ninth goal of the season gave reigning world champions the Netherlands a 2-1 victory over Argentina in front of a passion-fuelled capacity crowd at Utrecht’s SV Kampong on Thursday evening, a result which guarantees a first place finish for the Oranje in the league phase of the competition.

Wales move to top of Pool B, while South Africa beat Italy in close encounter.

Valencia, Spain Wales moved to the top of Pool B after a convincing 5-0 win over Thailand. The spectators were then in for a real treat as South Africa and Italy played out a high quality, competitive match that could have gone either way. It was South Africa who emerged victorious but both teams showed that they are here in Valencia determined to leave everything on the pitch.

Five goal hauls see Japan and Chile win through to the semi-finals

Hiroshima, Japan: The first crossover match of the FIH Series Finals in Hiroshima saw host nation Japan beating Poland by a convening 5-0 scoreline.  Chile beat neighbours and close rivals Uruguay in the Southern American clash, also scoring five goals, but conceding two.
