Day 2 : Famous draw for Belgium against Dutch women

Three men’s games on the second day of the Belfius EuroHockey Championships. In the all Britain battle Wales was denied a famous win over England by a late equaliser. Germany and Holland showed no mercy with their opponents. The women’s tournament started with Spain nicking a late win over Russia and hosts Belgium keeping reigning champion The Netherlands on a draw.

Scotland win gold at Women’s EuroHockey Championship II in Glasgow

Italy 1-2 Scotland (E. Bianchi / S. Jamieson, C. Watson)

Scotland, backed by a huge home support, won Women’s EuroHockey Championship II in Glasgow with a 2-1 victory over Italy. The Tartan Hearts had already gained promotion back to the top level of European hockey, and did so with a gold medal at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.

Scotland women top Pool at Euros in Glasgow

CRUCIAL SEMI-FINAL AWAITS ON FRIDAY IN RACE FOR PROMOTION

Scotland 3-0 Austria

Scotland finished top of Pool B in Women’s EuroHockey Championship II in Glasgow with three wins from three after beating Austria 3-0. Goals from Jen Eadie; Sarah Jamieson; and Kate Holmes saw them bag the win and will play for promotion in a winner-take-all semi-final against Poland.

MATCH 7: CZECH REPUBLIC 2-3 SCOTLAND

Scotland defeated Czech Republic 3-2 to qualify for the Women’s EuroHockey Championship II semi-final at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre. Scotland’s goals were struck by Amy Costello; Kaz Cuthbert and Louise Campbell as the Scots clocked up a great victory on home turf.

Scotland men won EuroHockey Championship II in Glasgow in a tremendous 2-1 victory over Wales. Scotland had already gained promotion to the top division of European hockey but took the top prize in the tournament in front of a full house in Glasgow. Scotland beat Russia to reach Euro final and gain promotion to the top tier of European hockey

Scotland 4-3 Russia (K. Bain, B. Cosgrove, C. Fraser, A. Forsyth)

 Scotland secured promotion to the top tier of European hockey after a dramatic 4-3 victory over Russia in the semi-finals of Men’s EuroHockey Championship II in Glasgow. Scotland were 4-0 in the final quarter and managed to hold off a late Russian surge to claim the win, and set up a final against Wales.
