Great Britain: Great Britain Squads Ready To Return To FIH Pro League Action

Great Britain Hockey has announced the men’s and women’s squads that will kick start their FIH FIH Pro League campaign in Argentina from 06 – 11 December.  

Both teams will be taking on Argentina and the Netherlands across the mini tournament. 

The women’s team sees the return of Olympic medallists Giselle Ansley, Anna Toman and Sarah Robertson while Katie Robertson will be earning her first GB cap at the event. 

Rohan Bhuhi and Struan Walker could earn their first GB caps in Argentina after being selected as part of the 23-strong men’s squad.  

The women’s team’s first match will be against Argentina on 06 December at 11pm GMT while the men’s first match, also against Argentina, will be on 07 December at 1:30am GMT.  

Hollie Pearne-Webb and David Ames will be sitting out the mini tournament are rehabbing after sustaining injuries in training.  

David Ralph, Women’s Head Coach, said: “I know the team is excited to get started in Argentina and we’re really pleased to be welcoming back Giselle, Anna and Sarah. Their experience is going to be great to have in the squad and I want to congratulate Katie on earning her first cap.  

“Competing against the likes of Argentina and the Netherlands will be really important for us ahead of the start of 2024.” 

Paul Revington, Men’s Head Coach, said: “We’re all looking forward to getting started for the new international season. We face a tough schedule in Argentina with four matches in five days, however, this will provide us with a valuable test ahead of the Olympic Qualifier in Oman. 

“We have several athletes who could make their Great Britain debuts in Argentina which is a testament to the quality of these individuals and to the hard work the entire squad continues to deliver both on and off the field.”
