EHF Executive Board Report, June 16th, 2023 – Brussels
President’s Welcome
The President, Marijke Fleuren, warmly welcomed everyone to the second face-to-face Executive Board meeting of the year. Marijke mentioned that this is the last full Board meeting for Simon, Mika, and herself after 12 years! The President and Director General shared the moments from their meeting with Georgian Hockey Federation and Georgian National Olympic Committee.

The minutes of the March Board meeting were read and approved.
Finance Report
Mika Rihtilä updated the board about the Finance Committee meeting where the Accounts 2022 (audit and management accounts), 2023 figures, 2024 draft budget, Future Revenue possibilities, were all discussed.
Mika Rihtilä and Angus Kirkland presented to the Board all documents as above in preparation for the upcoming General Assembly.
FIH Update
Marijke Fleuren updated the Board regarding FIH matters after the FIH Board meeting. The President presented the FIH Empowerment & Engagement Strategy, a short update regarding Global Calendar, changes to the Rules of Hockey regarding players clothing, new ranking point calculation system for Junior competitions and the penalty corner rule trial.
General Assembly 2023
Angus Kirkland presented to the Board the EHF 35th General Assembly draft agenda which was discussed, and final adjustments were made.
Competition Committee Outdoor and Indoor
Walter Kapounek presented the Board with an overview of EuroHockey, Clubs and summer events 2023, the EuroHockey summer events 2024 and the EuroHockey Indoor Championships and EuroHockey Indoor Club events 2024.
The hosts for the EuroHockey Indoor U21 Championships 2025 were approved.
As advised by Competition Committee Outdoor and Communications and Commercial Committee, the Board supported and approved doing a draw to decide the pools for EuroHockey Championships 2025.
EHL Update
Angus Kirkland presented to the Board slides including History of the EHL; State of Play; Season 22/23; Live Broadcast and Media Coverage; Current Competition Format; Current Scheduling; Current Side Events; Potential Side Events; Partnership Structure.
Director General Report
Angus Kirkland updated the Board regarding the EuroHockey Championships 2023 commercial side and TV rights. EHF staff members have regular meetings with DHB to make sure EuroHockey 2023 matters are going according to plan.
The Director General gave the update about the hosts for EuroHockey Championships 2025, and the process and timeline for finalising the host.
OTT Monetisation Strategy
Jokko de Wit presented to the Board the new OTT Monetisation Strategy, the development of which was approved by the Board during the March meeting. The strategy was approved.
Any other business
Marijke Fleuren updated the Board after the IOC meeting regarding the ongoing RUS/BLR situation.
Patrick Keusters hared the highlight from the meeting between the 5 Pro League NA’s and the FIH President.
The President thanked everyone personally for their contribution and support to her and the EHF. A final Board photo was taken to commemorate this special meeting.
The meeting ended at 17:00.
