- Immersive Development Days: Experience hands-on, exciting development sessions designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in coaching.
- Inclusive Approach: No prior coaching experience required. All you need is a positive attitude and a passion for expanding sports participation.
- Personalized Support: Benefit from dedicated 1:1 support from a coach developer to guide you on your coaching journey and empower you to engage more people in the world of sport.
- 12-Month Duration: The programme spans over 12 months, offering a blend of online communities of practice for idea sharing and connection, as well as immersive in-person learning experiences.

The England Hockey Ambitions Programme is an integral component of the England Hockey Talent Inclusion Project, aimed at enhancing the diversity and accessibility of the England Hockey coaching pathway.
The goal of the initiative is to cultivate a more diverse and welcoming environment within our sport by increasing the representation of coaches from underrepresented backgrounds and diverse communities. This initiative aspires to empower coaches to become influential role models, inspiring young people from all backgrounds to engage with and embrace the game of hockey.
Program Overview:
- Target Audience: This programme is tailored for individuals with some coaching experience, ideally holding a Level 2 qualification in any sport. We believe that inclusivity requires input from both insiders and outsiders of our sport, fostering fresh ideas and diverse perspectives.
- 12-Month Duration: The programme spans over 12 months, offering a blend of online communities of practice for idea sharing and connection, as well as immersive in-person learning experiences.
- Personalized Support: Participants will receive dedicated support from an England Hockey coach developer and an experienced mentor, carefully assigned based on individual needs. Each participant will benefit from 10 one-hour mentor sessions throughout the programme. The mentor you work with will be matched to you based on your individual context, wants and needs.
- Bespoke Programme: Your journey through the Ambitions Programme will be tailored to your aspirations and requirements. Whether you’re a budding coach embarking on your career or a seasoned international coach, the programme will be crafted around you to ensure maximum benefit and impact.
