PREMIER DIVISION TOP SIX RESUMES THIS WEEKEND!
With the Premier Divisions now split into two, the Top Six battle for the league title resumes this weekend.
The teams have already met once in the league this season as part of the 11 team round-robin, but in the second half of the season, both the Top Six teams and Bottom Five teams meet each other home and away.
Leaders Hampstead & Westminster start the second half of the season as they started the first, with a visit to London rivals, Wimbledon, and they will be hoping for a similar result as they won 3-1 at Raynes Park High School back in September. Wimbledon qualified in fourth place and won their last three league games before the winter break.
Second placed East Grinstead, holding off third placed Surbiton on goal difference, started their league season at home to Loughborough Students but with the Leicestershire club having finished in the bottom half of the table, the West Sussex club make the trip to Nottingham to face Beeston at Nottingham Hockey Centre, where they won 2-1 in October. Beeston qualified in fifth place, two wins in their last three games helping them finish three points clear of the University of Birmingham and Loughborough.
Surbiton also repeat their opening day fixture, travelling to Bristol to take on Clifton Robinsons and will be aiming to extend their current run of five successive league wins, having drawn 2-2 with Clifton at Coombe Dingle. Clifton took the sixth and final qualifying place, in spite of Birmingham and Loughborough both winning their last game of the first half of the season.
