Italy defy rankings to move to top of Pool B on Day Three of FIH Series Finals

It was surprises galore on Match Day 3 of the FIH Series Finals in Kuala Lumpur. First the lowest-ranked team in the tournament, Italy (World Ranking: 32), made it two wins from two with another victory over a higher-ranked team.

Austria, Wales, Italy and Malaysia take honours on opening day of FIH Series Finals

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

It was a day of thrills, surprises and upsets at the first of six FIH Series Finals.

Just when Wales (WR:24) thought they had produced the performance of the day with a 3-1 win over the top ranked team Canada (WR:10), Italy (WR:32), the lowest ranked team in the competition put in a terrific shift to steal three points from China (WR:14).
