Hockey Wales are pleased to announce that The Cathedral School, Llandaff will be entering into a one-year partnership with the organisation. Their support will be instrumental in helping Hockey Wales continue to grow and create more opportunities for communities to experience the sport.

As part of the agreement, The Cathedral School will be classified as Official Partners and have brand awareness opportunities at the European Under 18 Tournament and the National Hockey Centre in Cardiff.

The Cathedral School is an independent school in Llandaff for children aged 3-18. The school aims to nurture the talent and personality of each pupil, enabling all to thrive within a mutually respectful and supportive environment.

Head of The Cathedral School, Clare Sherwood said: “We are delighted to be supporting Hockey Wales over the next 12 months. Hockey at The Cathedral School plays an important part of our sporting provision and the opportunities that our pupils receive. The Hockey programme at the school is going from strength to strength with U8’s to U18’s enjoying the sport and the many benefits it can bring.

“We have more pupils playing outside of school in the community game than ever before, an ever-challenging fixture list and excellent coaching provision. We are delighted that this partnership comes in the year that the U14 girls became national champions and when we have two current CSL pupils representing Hockey Wales at the European Under 18 Tournament.”

Commenting on the partnership Paul Whapham CEO of Hockey Wales said: “We’re pleased The Cathedral School will be supporting Hockey Wales for the next 12 months. On the back of an historic year for the organisation it is very exciting to look towards the future and our new commercial partnerships are going to play a key role in making it as successful as possible

We will be working closely with the school to grow opportunities for more young people to play Hockey”.
