~12 teams will participate in the competition which will begin from Wednesday ~
Gwalior, 19th September 2023: Twelve teams are set to compete in the 3rd Khelo India Junior Women’s Hockey League 2023 (Finals) that will begin in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, September 20th and conclude on September 29th.
The round-robin league stage will see 12 teams divided into two pools. Pool A will feature SAI BAL, HAR Hockey Academy, Round Glass Punjab Hockey Club Academy, HIM Academy, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy and Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy, Bhagta. Meanwhile, Pool B will comprise SAI Shakti, Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy, Sonepat, Republican Sports Club, Sports Authority of Gujrat Hockey Academy, Salute Hockey Academy and Citizen Hockey XI.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Semi-Finals, scheduled for 28th September. The pinnacle of the tournament, the Final, is slated for 29th September. In addition to these decisive matches, the tournament will include fixtures to ascertain rankings from third to eighth place following the group stage.
Speaking about the upcoming event, Padma Shri Dr. Dilip Tirkey, President Hockey India, said, “The tournament presents our athletes with an additional platform to display their abilities and further refine their skills in a competitive environment. I am eager and excited to see young talent emerging from these tournaments, so that we can identify them and further groom them through our national program and would like to extend my best wishes to all teams ahead of the competition.”
