SCHC and Rotterdam won the women’s and men’s ABN AMRO Cup last weekend, the annual curtain-raiser to the new Dutch Hoofdklasse season.
For SCHC, they won through the group stages with midweek wins over HGC (3-0) and Rotterdam (1-0) at HC Derby before defeating SV Kampong 2-1 in the semi-final with goals from Renée van Laarhoven and Maud van den Heuvel.
They completed the perfect week with a 2-0 victory over Oranje-Rood in the final with a goal in each half from Trijntje Beljaars.
For Rotterdam, they came from a goal down to defeat Oranje-Rood 3-1. Thibeau Stockbroekx had given OR the lead but Pepijn van der Heidjen’s corner and further goals from Dutch internationals Thijs van Dam and Tjep Hoedemakers turned things around.
Bloemendaal took third place with a 3-2 win over Pinoké while Kampong took seventh, finishing with a 4-0 win over Laren with a pair of goals from Jip Janssen.
