Pakistan and Japan played out a 1-1 draw on Tuesday during the ongoing Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia.

Japan took the lead in the third quarter after Ken Nagayoshi successfully converted a penalty corner in the 33rd minute.

It seemed that Pakistan would end up on the losing side since they weren’t able to secure the equaliser as the fourth and final quarter neared its end. However, Rana Waheed Ashraf helped Pakistan level the match after a well-worked penalty corner in the last minute of the match.

Earlier, Pakistan defeated Korea 4-0 one-sidedly in their second Sultan Azlan Shah Cup match on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan defeated Malaysia with a last-minute winner by Abu Mahmood on Saturday. The nine-goal thriller saw some of the best goals as the Green Shirts managed to emerge triumphant 5-4 after a long 60 minutes.

Pakistan’s next match is now against Canada on May 8 at the same venue.
