The countdown to the Paris 2024 Olympics is officially on, and with less than 90 days until both our GB teams take centre stage in Paris, now is the time to get involved and inspire the next generation of hockey lovers.
England Hockey’s, Summer of Hockey 2024, gives clubs and schools the opportunity to celebrate the excitement and introduce their local community and children to the game.
Below are a few ways you can get involved this summer:
‘Buddy up’ with your Local School
Partner with your local school and ignite a passion for hockey in the next generation. Inspire the children with PE, lunchtime clubs, after-school activities, or even Olympic assemblies.
This is a great opportunity, to engage children that may not have previously had the chance to enjoy hockey.
Pick up a stick
Host “#Pickupastick” open days for your local community, encouraging them to pick up a stick and have a go at hockey in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment.
There are loads of things you can do at a Pick Up a Stick Open Day – taster sessions for different age groups, Olympic watch parties, BBQ, social matches, Walking Hockey and skill sessions.
Join Jess & Jasper on an Epic Hockey Adventure!
A fun and educational resource, aimed at getting 5-11-years-old excited about the Olympics this summer. Our two mascots, Jess and Jasper take your children on an action-packed hockey adventure.
A range of fun challenges and activities within the resource can be used in your club sessions or simply shared with the children to enjoy the booklet at home with their family.
Clubs don’t exact plans at this stage, but by registering your interest, England Hockey will send your club the relevant Activation Pack/s to help bring your activity to life.
