The Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, Mr. Husain Al Musallam, believes the long-term planning of the OCA will benefit the athletes of Asia for the next 10 years.

Speaking at the close of the recent Olympic Solidarity/OCA Regional Forum in Bahrain, Capt. Husain said the first priority in the long-term objective and vision plan for the OCA was to have a “stable calendar in different types of games – summer games, winter games, indoor and martial arts games, beach games, youth games.”

He added: “This will create a good preparation for each National Olympic Committee with their respective National Federations and respective sports system.

“We have a calendar until 2034. We are talking 10 years from now. We have every year a function.

“With our development programme, which is for coaches and officials and athletes, and with the Olympasia project in place, that will add value to the performance of the Asian athletes for the next 10 years.”

The OCA calendar of multi-sport games runs through to the 22nd Asian Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2034. The next Asian Games will be in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan in 2026 and the 21st Asian Games in Doha, Qatar in 2030.
