South African Hockey has today announced the SA U21 Men’s side that will compete in the Junior African Cup. South Africa, the defending champions, will head to Namibia from 30 November – 8 December this year, with the goal of qualifying for the FIH Junior World Cup 2025, which will take place in India in December 2025.
The SA U21 Men created history when they were victorious at the SA Hockey IPT, defeating Southern Gauteng in the final. Coach Guy Elliott has gone with the same squad that did battle in Pretoria to secure world cup qualification.
Jayden Brooker, who was voted player of the tournament, will be central to the team’s ambitions and will be ably supported by fellow Junior World Cup “veterans” Damien Knott, Gianluca Virissimo and Lerou Dithlakanyane amongst others.
Reuben Sendzul lead the goal scoring for the team in Johannesburg and there is no doubt of the danger he possesses while captain Dan Neuhoff led from the front throughout the whole tournament.
Full fixtures and schedule will be released when available from African Hockey.
