England Hockey is delighted to announce an initial 22 players for the 2024-25 England under-21 women’s squad following the recent assessment phase.
Eleven of the team featured in last Summer’s European Junior bronze medal winning team alongside newcomers who have progressed from the England Age Group programmes.
The 2024 programme kicked off at Lilleshall earlier in the week with a two-day camp with further camps scheduled for November and December as part of early preparation for the 2025 FIH Junior World Cup. The Lilleshall camp coincided with England under-16 activity giving our younger England players an opportunity to see and feel what they might be doing in a few years’ time, and we will plan more activity alongside the under-18’s in the New Year.
Commenting on the new squad Heather Williams, GB Head of Elite Talent Development, said: “Congratulations to all the players selected and my thanks to their coaches and families who support them day in day out to help them achieve their hockey aspirations. We made great strides with the team last summer, before culturally and performance wise, culminating in a European Junior bronze medal and I am really looking forward to seeing this group progress over the course of the next 12 months.”
Full details of the squad can be found on the England U21 Squad page.
A reminder to coaches that the nomination process for the Men’s GB Elite Development Programme which incorporates the England under-21 programme is open until Sunday 3rd November at 17.00
