Gantoise have secured a major addition to their squad with the signing of Argentine international Sofía “Poy” Toccalino.
The 30-year-old arrives hot on the heels of World Cup gold in Amstelveen and brings with her over 220 caps, an Olympic silver medal and a wealth of Pan-American success.
For Gantoise, the signing represents another statement of intent as the club continues to strengthen its ambitions both domestically and in European competition.
She is the second player from Argentina to join the club this year along with Vicky Granatto, linking up with compatriot Guadelupe Fernandez Lacort.
On the field, Gantoise began their season with a 3-2 league win over Victory with Alexine Matthysen scoring the winner with six minutes to go after a penalty corner double from Stephanie Vanden Borre.
