Edinburgh University’s defence of their maiden Scottish Premier League title continues unabated as they were 3-1 winners over Grange over the weekend.
The students seemed to have the game over by the interval with a three-goal lead, Keir Robb opened the scoring then Jamie Golden added a second at a penalty corner and Ollie Wilson got the next.
The second half was a much more even affair but it wasn’t until the closing minutes that Grange got their consolation with a penalty corner conversion from Albert Rowling.
It added to their big 6-2 win on opening day against Erskine Stewarts Melville a week earlier and sees them set the early pace alongside Watsonians, Western Wildcats and Uddingston.
They will complete their pre-EHL series of matches with a date against Hillhead at Peffermill next Saturday ahead of ROUND1 fixtures against Lille MHC and SV Arminen.
Ahead of that challenge, captain Rory Steedman said: “Leading this team into EHL 2026 is a huge honour. There is a real belief within the squad, and everyone is excited for what lies ahead.
“We know the challenge will be tough, but we also know how hard this group has worked to earn this opportunity. Along with some good new recruits, we couldn’t be more excited to show what we have to offer. So we go into the tournament excited to compete.”
