Pakistan Army beat Higher Education Commission (HEC) whereas Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) defeated Punjab to set a final clash against each other in the women’s hockey event of the ongoing 34th National Games in Quetta.

Army locked horns with HEC in first semi-final today at Ayub Stadium. Army remained dominant throughout the match and won it by 2-0.

The winning side scored both the goals in first half to take an early edge in the game. Goalless HEC found it difficult to make a comeback in the game. Daira Khanum and Taskeen Kousar scored a goal each.

On the other hand, WAPDA outclassed Punjab by 4-1 in the second semi-final. Sidra Hakeem remained the top goal-scorer with two successful strikes. Mariya Sabir and Humaira Latif netted a goal each.

The two finalists will lock horns in a high-octane clash on May 19 at the same venue. Third position match will be played between HEC and Punjab.

It must be noted here that the same two teams played the final in women’s hockey event of 33rd National Games.
