Konica Minolta Office Automation Group Pakistan proudly presented a cheque of Rs 1 million to national hockey hero and captain of the Pakistan Junior team, Abdul Hanan Shahid. This honor comes in recognition of Hanan’s exceptional performances in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024 and the FIH Nation Cup, where he was declared the Rising Player and Young Player, respectively.
Chief Executive of Konica Minolta, Tahir Saeed Butt, organized a special ceremony to celebrate Hanan’s achievements, highlighting the importance of recognizing young talent in sports. Hanan expressed his gratitude, stating, “Such encouragement from private organizations is crucial for national players. Rewards like this boost our confidence and motivate us to strive for excellence.”
Hanan emphasized the significance of hockey in his family and his commitment to contributing to the success of the Pakistani team. “Our next goal is to win the Junior World Cup and bring it home. With sufficient preparation, I aim to stand on the victory podium once again,” he said, recalling his previous experiences in World Cup.
Tahir Saeed Butt acknowledged the historical importance of hockey in Pakistan, stating, “Hockey has put Pakistan on the global map. We have great hopes for young players like Hanan to elevate the sport further.” He also noted that while cricketers are often rewarded for their performances, it is vital to recognize and value hockey players who contribute immensely to the sport.
