EHL: Roper a big addition to offset Morton departure

Old Georgians have had a busy week on the transfer front in the wake of their third successive English title success.

England and GB international Phil Roper will join the club from Holcombe for next season following previous spells with Wimbledon and Oranje-Rood.

“I’m proud to be joining this great family club as well as the English league champions and European medalists,” Roper said of the move.

“I hope I can add to the legacy already created and continue to enjoy the successful journey this team is on”

He will provide a strong replacement for the departing Lee Morton who lit up the EHL FINAL8 weekend earlier this month with a string of big performances.

The Scottish star has signed a deal with AH&BC Amsterdam to play in the Hoofdklasse in the 2024/25 season.
