An 18-strong men’s squad of Under 21 players have travelled to Malaysia ready to take on the likes of Germany, South Africa and Australia at the Sultan of Johor Cup.
The five-day competition begins on Friday 27 October with Australia as the squad’s first opponents.
The squad features a mix of those that have competed at this Sultan of Johor Cup before and new players and the tournament provides an excellent development opportunity for players to experience large crowds, tournament hockey and non-European opposition.
Max Anderson, from Cookstown in Northern Ireland, has been selected as team captain and features alongside Scottish brothers Ali and Callum Douglas.
In recent years, GB has enjoyed success with first place finishes in 2018 and 2019 and a number of players have used this event to gain valuable experience ahead of joining senior teams.
