Hosted at the prestigious Wynberg Military Sports Stadium, this tournament promises five days of electrifying matches showcasing top-tier talent from across the globe.

Spearheaded by title sponsor Kathea Energy and supported by Synsports, the tournament features two competitions: Men’s and Women’s Indoor Hockey. Teams from South Africa, USA, Namibia, and Ireland will battle it out for supremacy in their respective categories.

“With two rounds of group play leading to the ultimate showdown, the competition is poised to deliver thrilling encounters,” said Simon Martin, LOC Chairperson. “The top two teams from each category will vie for the prestigious cup in a high-octane final.”

The fixture list comprises twelve games preceding the final matches, offering a comprehensive display of skill and strategy among the participating teams. The tournament opens when Sultan Nazrin Shah Cup champions Namibia take on the team that knocked them out of the World Cup at the Quarter Final stage (a thrilling 3-2) USA. The curtain is raised on the women’s tournament by World Cup Semi-Finalists South Africa kick starting against Europeans Ireland.

A further ten games will be played over the course of the next three days including the introduction of the South African Men and the Namibian Women. Following the completion of the group stage, the top two in each tournament will progress to the final on 19 December 2023.

“More than 1000 spectators are expected to grace each night of the tournament, creating an electric atmosphere that caters to fans of all ages,” added Martin. “This event promises to be a thrilling celebration of indoor hockey excellence.”
