High school field hockey is underway across the nation and now that all schools have a few regular season games in the books, the first ranking by MAX Field Hockey shows a lot of changes compared to its preseason poll.
Two of the biggest that jump off the page: West Perry and Warwick in Pennsylvania. Both climbed much higher on the nationally ranked list landing at the heart of it.
And, then there’s Uxbridge in Massachusetts, as well as Mechanicsburg in Pennsylvania, which also joined the ranking after having not priorly been ranked.
The MAX Field Hockey/Longstreth High School National Invitational is this weekend. The Hill School, of Pottstown, Pa., which is ranked No. 1 in the country, is scheduled to play The Kinkaid School, of Houston, Texas, Friday night at 7 p.m.
“The National Invitational will feature 73 public and private schools from 12 different states at The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania for 79 official NFHS games on turf,” according to MAX Field Hockey. “Included are 19 of the nation’s current Top 25 ranked teams.”
