Netherlands: HK (H): victories for Amsterdam and Den Bosch

The men’s teams of Den Bosch and Amsterdam did not suffer any losses on the fifteenth matchday in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. Den Bosch was 3-1 too strong for Klein Zwitserland on Saturday at home. Amsterdam proved too big for SCHC in the Wagener Stadium. It became 7-0.

Den Bosch – Klein Zwitserland 3-1
After three home matches without a win against Klein Zwitserland, Den Bosch broke that streak Saturday night at their own Oosterplas. Thanks in part to two goals from a penalty corner by Timo Boers, the team won 3-1. Boers now has seventeen goals to his name. He is one goal away from equaling his personal record in one season. Last season, the Orange international finished at eighteen goals in league play. With this victory, Den Bosch remained unbeaten at home for the eleventh time in a row. For Klein Zwitserland, the defeat marked the first since the winter break.

Amsterdam – SCHC 7-0
SCHC had impressed since the winter break with a win over Bloemendaal (4-3) and a draw against Den Bosch (1-1), but at Wagener Stadium coach Jeroen Groenheijde’s team was dealt a serious blow. Amsterdam was supreme and won 7-0. Club top scorer Boris Burkhardt scored twice, bringing his season total to 21, a personal record for the striker. Thije Harm and Brent van Bijnen also scored twice each, while Luke Dommerhuijzen opened the scoring after only five minutes.
