Sunday, March 22: The cup magic continued in the AIG Irish Senior Cup Semi-Finals today, as Monkstown Women caused yet another upset against UCD to emulate their sensational cup run in 2022. Three Rock Rovers booked their first finals spot since 2019 with an emphatic win in Havelock Park, while Lisnagarvey made light work of Monkstown as they go in search of a 28th AIG Irish Senior Cup title.

In the Women’s AIG Irish Senior Cup Semi-Finals, Monkstown caused yet another upset, beating topflight side UCD 2–0 thanks to goals from Jennifer Hamill and Chloe Watkins. The win sees Monkstown reach their second final in three years and sets them up for a chance at a second-ever AIG Irish Senior Cup title. At Loreto Beaufort, Railway Union booked their final spot as they bid to win a third successive title, having beaten Loreto in a shootout. Loreto led on two occasions, but Railway fought back to level terms, with Jade Arundell saving a penalty stroke to keep Railway level and force the shootout. Arundell denied Loreto in the shootout on three occasions to guide Railway Union into the final.

In the Men’s AIG Irish Senior Cup, Three Rock Rovers claimed a sensational win away to Banbridge to reach their first final since 2019. A goal each from James Walker and Conor Walsh sent TRR on their way before Banbridge halved the deficit through Peter Brown before half-time. Walker restored the cushion, but Louis Rowe clawed Banbridge back into the contest. TRR held out thanks to late defensive heroics and strong saves from James Coffey. Lisnagarvey made no mistake in their home clash with Monkstown, beating the visitors 6–1 thanks to goals from Ben, Matthew and Daniel Nelson, as well as Milo Thompson and Mackenzie Connor, to give them an opportunity to extend their record-holding 27 titles.

The sides will now wait for the chance to inscribe their names in the AIG Irish Senior Cup history books when they meet on Saturday, May 2.
