Rotweiss Wettingen defeated CAM 92 to earn Swiss hockey their first ever Euro Hockey League win with a sublime first half setting them up for a 3-1 victory.

Their trio of goals all came before half-time as they found some sublime passages of play to move out of sight.

Robin Aebi had gone inches from breaking the deadlock early on but they did get their breakthrough from a perfect 10-pass move in the 14th minute.

It was worked all the way up the field with Michel Morard feeding his brother Yves who in turn found Jens Flück on the baseline. His cross left Mika Conrad with not much to do as he swept in the chance.

Aebi gobbled up a corner rebound for 2-0 and then Jonas Winkler ripped in a direct set-piece with four seconds to go before half-time, putting the Swiss champions in dreamland.

The second half was much tighter with CAM 92 taking on much more of the ball but finding precious few chances to close the gap.

They eventually got on the scoreboard with less than two minutes to go, German Lezcano’s switched corner move was probably meant for a deflector but found its way into the bottom corner.

That goal earned CAM the solace of a losing bonus point but Rotweiss are the side now in control of Pool D.
