On Monday, on the 21st and penultimate day of the regular hockey championship, the Daring secured its 9th final place, and therefore its maintenance, by beating Herakles 1-2.
Whatwill he accompany the Old Club in Division 1? Not the Molenbeekois who secured their place among the Elite with selflessness and resilience after a second round of quality. Uccle Sport will have to do better than Leuven next Sunday to keep its place as a barragist.
Herakles – Daring : 1-2. The Molenbeekois have succeeded in their bet. They remain in the Division d’Honneur after a complicated season but, above all, after showing an exemplary mentality in the second round. Gilles Vanderschelde’s protégés did not let themselves be defeated by circumstances and they responded on the field, every weekend, to force their destiny. Against the Lierrois, they were very patient because it was in the last minutes that they conquered their 5th success of the season. After a stroke missed by Manu Brunet, it was Nathan Delos who gave the lead to the visitors (57th). But the reaction of Antonin Igau, on penalty, put a smile on the faces of the noisy local supporters (59th). And it was finally 3 minutes from the end that Xavier Esmenjaud offered delivery to a whole club on a penalty phase.
Uccle Sport – Orée: 2-4. It is therefore on the last day of the linear competition that the Ucclois will have to make every effort to ensure their 9th place in the ranking, synonymous with barragiste. This Monday, the Orée evolved a notch above and could again count on a Tomi Domene in great form and author of 3 goals (including a penalty and a stroke). However, it was the local club that opened the scoring on a penalty converted by Juan Amoroso before suffering the game during almost all the exchanges. The trip to Daring, next Sunday, will therefore be decisive for the Merles who will have to do as well as Leuven to secure their place in the play-offs (against Beerschot or Antwerp) to play their place in the Division of Honor.
Racing – Leopold : 3-3. The derby ucclois ended on a sharing that does not change anything for the 2 teams in this competition. A game without stakes during which it was necessary to wait until the second half to witness, finally, the opening of the score. Sydney Cabuy struck first on a penalty run before Samuel Malherbe doubled the lead for the locals. The Leo reacted and returned to the game via Arthur Verdussen (2) and Gauthier Boccard. The scorers of the day: Henri Raes, Nicolas Della Torre (on p.c.), Max Lootens, Lucas Martinez and Mathew Cobbaert. Mario Mucic saved the honour for Leuven who will have to achieve a better result than Uccle Sport, at the Braxgata, to snatch a place in the barragiste. Otherwise, it will be the descent into Division 1 for the Academics.
Ghent – Braxgata : 1-0. The Flandriens ensured the essential at the very end of the match thanks to François Goyet who scored the winning goal in the very last seconds of the game. A 14th success that allows the Ghent to maintain its 3rd place in the overall standings with 2 points ahead of the Waterloo Ducks.
Waterloo Ducks – Old Club: 8-3. After validating their ticket for the playoffs on Sunday, by winning their duel against Racing, the Brabancons were obviously much more serene when welcoming Liège who still maintained, on their side, a tenuous hope of ensuring their maintenance in the Division of Honor. But for this, they had to bring back, at least, a point of their trip to the Drève d’Argenteuil. The promoted, as usual, put all their forces into the battle but they could not do anything against the local strike force. At the break, Victor Charlet (2 times on penalty) and Gaëtan Dykmans had offered a comfortable lead to the Watducks but Charl Ulrich (40th) and Maxime Lectius (47th) allowed to keep a little suspense in the debates. A hope of short duration since Victor Charlet (again scorer 2 times on penalty), Gaëtan Dykmans and William Ghislain struck with precision to establish the 14th success of Jean Willems’ men.
