Thailand Triumphs Over Sri Lanka with a 2-1 Victory in Women’s Junior AHF Cup 2024

Singapore, June 21, 2024 – In a gripping encounter, Thailand emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against Sri Lanka in the Women’s Junior AHF Cup held in Singapore. The match, played at the Singapore Hockey Stadium, showcased the determination and skill of both teams in a fiercely contested battle.he match began with both teams displaying strong defensive strategies and looking for openings to take the lead. Thailand struck first in the 14th minute when forward delivered a precise shot, putting Thailand ahead 1-0. Sri Lanka responded with vigor, but Thailand’s defense successfully thwarted their attempts to equalize, maintaining the lead as the first half concluded.

The second half saw Sri Lanka intensifying their efforts to get back into the game. Their persistence paid off in the 38th minute when midfielder  scored a brilliant goal, leveling the score at 1-1. The match continued with high intensity, as both teams pushed for the winning goal.

Thailand regained the lead in the 52nd minute through a well-coordinated play, with midfielder Naruemol Prakob scoring the decisive goal. Despite Sri Lanka’s relentless attacks in the final minutes, Thailand’s defense held strong, securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

Hong Kong China Defeats Singapore 3-0 in Women’s Junior AHF Cup 2024

Singapore, June 21, 2024 – Hong Kong China delivered a commanding performance, defeating Singapore 3-0 in the Women’s Junior AHF Cup held in Singapore. The match, played at the Singapore Hockey Stadium, highlighted Hong Kong China’s superior strategy and execution, leaving the host nation struggling to keep up.Hong Kong China set the pace early in the game, displaying their offensive strength. The first goal came in the 12th minute when forward  scored a well-placed shot, giving Hong Kong China an early lead. Singapore struggled to break through the robust defense of Hong Kong China, who maintained control and continued to press forward. By halftime, Hong Kong China was firmly in control, leading 1-0.

The second half saw Hong Kong China intensifying their attack. In the 38th minute, midfielder Mei Ling Chan doubled their lead with a powerful strike from the top of the circle. Singapore tried to mount a comeback but found themselves continually thwarted by Hong Kong China’s solid defense.

In the 52nd minute, forward Siu Man Wong sealed the victory with a brilliant solo effort, making it 3-0. Despite Singapore’s efforts to respond, they were unable to penetrate Hong Kong China’s defense, and the match ended in a decisive 3-0 victory for the visitors.
