EHL: ABN AMRO EHL FINAL8 to enjoy unique dual hosting at Wagener Stadium

The ABN AMRO EHL FINAL8 will be jointly hosted by Pinoké and AH&BC Amsterdam at the Wagener Stadium from March 28 to April 1, 2024.

The unique hosting setup will combine the two Dutch clubs’ expertise having welcomed the EHL to the venue on numerous occasions in recent years.

In their debut season, Pinoké brought the party-atmosphere last season with a vibrant volunteer team as large crowds enjoyed the world’s best club hockey competition.

Amsterdam, meanwhile, are frequent hosts of the elite tournament, most recently in 2022 when they saw their home club win the EHL Women’s title in glorious style.

EHL board member Marijke Fleuren said of this unique agreement: “There has been significant interest in hosting this year and this joint bid was most compelling.

“Having two such close neighbours working together will unlock every aspect of this famous stadium in Amstelveen and the potential for lively home crowds on each day of the EHL festival.”

In addition to the 20 matches which will take place in the main stadium, the Amsterdamse Bos and its pitches will also be the venue for the ABN AMRO EHL Hockey ID and ABN AMRO EHL U14 tournaments.

It will sets up a great festival, one which both clubs cannot wait to be part of.

Seerp Gratama, Pinoké chairman, said: “Pinoké is proud to return as a host for the EHL finals, this year together with AH&BC and we look forward to a great hockey tournament in a superb

Atmosphere.”

Marc Staal, AH&BC Amsterdam chairman, added he is delighted to see his club back in the competition and playing a key role.

“We always enjoy having the EHL with all the fans from around Europe creating a special atmosphere. We look forward to working with Pinoké and the EHL team to deliver a wonderful event for players, fans and partners alike!”

The draw for the EHL Men and Women’s FINAL8 competitions will be made on December 13 in Amsterdam with the match schedule and tickets to be released on December 15.
