EHL: CAM 92 Aims to Build on Opening Day Draw in France – EHL

CAM 92 will look to build on their opening day 2-2 draw with Saint Germain as they make the trip to Lyon on the second day of the French men’s league.

Goals from Tom Gaillard and Gabin Lorrazuri earned them a point as their early season speeds up over the next few weeks, leading into EHL Men ROUND1 games against Rotweiss Wettingen and Lisnagarvey in October.

They do so with a young panel with 16 of the 24 players named in their panel aged 23 or younger.

Among the key men is goalkeeper Marius Clément was the second goalkeeper for the French side at the World Cup during the summer.

There he joined eight players who have come through the club – Lucas Montecot, Mathis and Timothée Clément, Xavier Esmenjaud, Mattéo Desgouillons, Louis Haertelmeyer, Eliot Curty and Corentin Saunier – but have since moved to clubs in Belgium.

The ever-present with the club is coach Aymeric Bergamo who continues to have been involved with each of Montrouge’s EHL adventures either as a player or as a coach.

The current leading lights are captain Antonin Igau who produced a glorious hat-trick at last year’s EHL KO16 in Barcelona while Gaillard, Rafael Stab, Lorrazuri and James Liddiard were in the French Under-21 Junior World Cup team last December.

Erwan Brodt and Nathan Tchakonté were both U-21 internationals a year before, showing the club continues to develop young talent.
