Germany: Lichterfelde Second Again After Six-point Weekend

The Berliners were the only one of the ten teams in the southern group that were able to get full points on the last field weekend of the year. The 5-1 win on Saturday over HG Nürnberg was followed by a 1-0 win over TuS Obermenzing on Sunday. Jenna Gabel scored the golden goal after 35 minutes.

With another threesome, Lichterfelde moved back up to second place in the table, because Feudenheimer HC had to admit defeat against SC Frankfurt 80 1-2 on Sunday, just like on Saturday against Rüsselsheim. Merle Knobloch (27th) and Charlotte Jagdt (E, 32nd) had put the guests in the lead, Leah Lorsch (E, 50th) shortened the score for the Mannheim team, whose final spurt was slowed down by a yellow card. The FHC also had to allow itself to be overtaken by Frankfurt due to its zero-point weekend and is going into the second half of the season in fourth place.

League leaders TSV Mannheim had to admit defeat at the end of the autumn after a shoot-out at Rüsselsheimer RK. Amelie Pittack (38th) with the TSV lead and Viola Becker (56th) with the late RRK equalizer ensured the 1-1 tie. In the shoot-out (2:1), goals from Anagnostou and Zimmermann were enough for the extra point for Rüsselsheim, as only Kardorf scored for the guests.

There was also a shoot-out in Leipzig between host ATV and the Nuremberg HTC. No goals would be scored in the 60 minutes of the game, it was only in the artificial extra time that Schniewind (2) scored for the ATV and Rix and B.Zaha (2) for the Franconian guests, who took the second point with a score of 3-2.

In the basement duel between the two teams from Blau-Weiss Berlin and HG Nürnberg, which fell to the last two places after Saturday’s results, the HGN celebrated an important 2-1 away win. Julia Groß (E, 29th) and Celina Loy (36th) made it 0-2, which the hosts were only able to shorten through Maja Stöcker (39th). Berlin failed to pass on the Red Lantern to the HGN with a victory.
