Brisbane Blaze confirms support coaching staff for 2026 Hockey One campaign
Brisbane Blaze teams are pleased to confirm their off-field coaching staff for the 2026 Hockey One season, with a highly experienced group set to lead both the women’s and men’s programs.
For the women’s program, Jill Dwyer and Lisa ‘Bassy’ Morgan return to the Blaze coaching staff following their appointments last year, bringing valuable continuity and experience to the group.
A key addition to the women’s coaching line-up is Amy Ryan, an accomplished high-performance coach and coach educator with extensive experience across the pathway system. Currently serving as Hockey Australia U16 Lead Coach, Amy has also spent years as a Queensland State Team Coach and was part of the Canberra Chill Hockey One coaching staff last year.
On the men’s side, the Blaze welcomes Lee Bodimeade onto the coaching staff after assisting the program during last year’s season. Lee was Hockey Queensland’s High Performance Manager over many years, coached the Brisbane Blaze Women and the Queensland Scorchers, and was the USA Women’s Program head coach for many years, leading them to the London Olympics.
Men’s High Performance Program coach Matt Wells returns as Assistant Coach, while Christian Bourke also returns as Team Manager.
