India: Day 1 Results: 2nd Hockey India Junior Women and Men North Zone Championship 2024

Jhansi, 1st July: Day 1 of the 2nd Hockey India Junior Women and Men North Zone Championship 2024 witnessed Hockey Haryana and Delhi Hockey win their respective matches in the Women’s category while Hockey Haryana also won in the Men’s category, in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

 

Hockey Haryana triumphs over Hockey Uttarakhand:

In the day’s first match, Hockey Haryana defeated Hockey Uttarakhand 9-1. Shashi Khasa (9’, 49’) and Ravina (27’, 60’) scored a brace each for Hockey Haryana while Captain Kirti (18’), Ritika Mann (22’), Tamanna (29’), Priyanka (33’) and Pooja Malik (46’) scored a goal each. The lone goal for Hockey Uttarakhand came from Aarti (10’).

Delhi Hockey posts commanding win over Hockey Jammu and Kashmir:In the day’s second match, Delhi Hockey defeated Hockey Jammu and Kashmir 39-0. Subham (2’, 5’, 6’, 6’, 8’, 21’, 26’, 31’, 31’, 53’, 55’) and Captain Anshika (7’, 13’, 16’, 21’, 33’, 35’, 41’, 50, 54’, 56’, 60’) led the goal scoring spree with an astonishing 11 goals each, Nisha (3’, 6’, 8’, 28’, 35’, 37’, 39’, 57’) scored eight goals, Komal (46’, 51’, 53’) scored a hattrick, Sunaina (23’, 43’) scored a brace while Nishu Rana (11’), Anjali (27’), Preeti (33’) and Nisha (52’) scored a goal each for Delhi Hockey.

 

Hockey Haryana defeats Hockey Himachal:

In the third match of the day, which was also the opening match of the men’s category, Hockey Haryana logged an assertive victory over Hockey Himachal, 9-0. Vinay (29’, 35’, 47’) was clinical in front of goal for Haryana, leading the goal-scoring efforts. Nitin (10’) and Rohit (13’) gave Haryana the lead in the first quarter while Amit (26’) also chipped in with a goal. In the final quarter of the game, Happy (54’, 56’, 57’) scored thrice in four minutes to secure the second hat-trick of the match for Haryana.

 

Later in the day, Uttar Pradesh Hockey will take on Delhi Hockey in the second Men’s match.
