New Delhi, 4th October 2023: The third day of the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Men & Women North Zone Championship 2023 in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, saw Hockey Punjab and Uttar Pradesh Hockey register wins in their respective matches in the Sub Junior Women’s category, while Hockey Punjab, Hockey Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh Hockey emerged victorious in their respective games in the Sub Junior Men’s category.
The first match saw Hockey Punjab beat Hockey Himachal by 6-0 in the Sub Junior Women’s category. The goalscorers for Hockey Punjab were Tanu Rani (10’, 44’), Maskeenpreet Kaur (27’, 32’), and Captain Sanna (36’, 56’).
Uttar Pradesh Hockey comprehensively beat Hockey Uttarakhand by a 16-0 scoreline in the second match of the Sub Junior Women’s category. Rashmi Patel (2’, 4’, 11’, 38’, 43’) opened the account for Uttar Pradesh Hockey. Chauhan Shraddha (6’, 26’), Captain Rashmi Raikwar (9’, 30’, 35’, 41’, 48’), Lucky Kumari (13’), and Soni Reeti (15’, 18’, 52’) also scored to seal the victory.
The third match ended with Hockey Punjab beating Hockey Himachal by 10-1 in the Sub Junior Men’s category. Singh Gourav (6’), Sukhdev Singh (14’, 20’), Taranjot Singh (19’), Jagjit Singh (50’), Charanjeet Singh (51’, 51’), Ajaypal Singh (51’, 60’), and Captain Kushal Sharma (58’) were the goal scorers for Hockey Punjab, while Shivansh (52’) scored the only goal for Hockey Himachal.
In the fourth match, Hockey Haryana beat Hockey Chandigarh by 7-1 in the Sub Junior Men’s category. The goalscorers for Hockey Haryana were Sachin (3’, 32’), Aditya Kumar (8’), Monu (15’), Tushar (38’), Rohit (40’), and Aman (60’). Meanwhile, Suraj Kumar Sah (54’) scored the lone goal for Hockey Chandigarh.
The last match of the day ended with Uttar Pradesh Hockey beating Hockey Uttarakhand by 21-0 in the Sub Junior Men’s category. Captain Ali Shahrukh (10’, 12’, 15’, 19’, 43’, 49’, 54’) led by example, scoring seven goals for Uttar Pradesh Hockey. Rajbhar Prahalad (13’, 20’, 34’, 56’), Singh Harsh Pratap (14’), Satyam Pandey (22’, 48), Yadav Anurag (25’, 27’), Ajay Kumar Gond (29’), Ashvani Singh (33’, 53’), Raynee Mohd Atif (42’), and Sujeet Rajbhar (57’) also scored to put the game beyond doubt.
