India: Day 6 Results: 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Men & Women West Zone Championship 2023

~Hockey Gujarat, Hockey Maharashtra, and Hockey Madhya Pradesh won in Sub Junior Women’s category matches~

~Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey, Chhattisgarh Hockey, and Hockey Madhya Pradesh won in Sub Junior Men’s category matches~

Chhattisgarh, 14th October 2023: Hockey Gujarat, Hockey Maharashtra, and Hockey Madhya Pradesh registered wins in their respective matches of the Sub Junior Women’s category. Meanwhile, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey, Chhattisgarh Hockey, and Hockey Madhya Pradesh emerged victorious in their respective games in the Sub Junior Men’s category, on the sixth day of the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Men & Women West Zone Championship 2023 in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. 

In the first match of the day, Hockey Gujarat beat Goans Hockey by 5-0 in the Sub Junior Women’s category. Captain Archana Vala (10’, 44’) led the goalscoring efforts with a brace, while Gohil Ridhdhiben (7’), Mohaniya Srushti (53’), and Parmar Puriben (56’) scored a goal each to guarantee victory for Hockey Gujarat. 

Hockey Maharashtra defeated Hockey Rajasthan by 2-0 in the second match of the day in the Sub Junior Women’s category. Manali Manohar Gurav (15’) opened the account for Hockey Maharashtra from a penalty corner, followed by a goal from Vaz Taleesa (44’) to confirm the three points from the game. 

The third contest of the day saw Hockey Madhya Pradesh beat Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey 16-0 in the Sub Junior Women’s category. The goalscorers for Hockey Madhya Pradesh were Sallu Pukhrambam (7’, 57’, 59’), Sujata Jayant (16’, 37’), Sajeda Begum (18’), Parmar Ronak (23’), Kanak Pal (24’, 26’, 27’, 60’), Rubi Rathore (31’, 35’, 36’, 39’), and Hasan Jainab (53’). 

Meanwhile, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey defeated Hockey Maharashtra by 2-1 in a closely contested match in the Sub Junior Men’s category. Shubham Rajbhar (9’) scored first for Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey, quickly followed by a penalty corner goal from Captain Mithlesh Singh (10’). Hockey Maharashtra also were quick to answer through Khune Harsh Ramesh (12’) but was unable to take a step further and steal a point from the game. 

In the fifth match, Chhattisgarh Hockey beat Hockey Gujrat by 18-0 in the Sub Junior Men’s category. Abhishek Yadav (4’, 19’), Manas Yadav (7’, 18’, 28’), Om Kumar Yadav (11’, 13’, 31’, 37’, 47’, 60’), Avi Manikpuri (15’, 17’, 43’, 46’), and Captain Anand Kumar Suryavanshi (23’, 38’, 40’) scored to seal the win for Chhattisgarh Hockey. 

The last match of the day witnessed Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeat Goans Hockey 9-0 in the Sub Junior Men’s category. The goalscorers for Hockey Madhya Pradesh were Aashir Aadil Khan (3′), Captain Om Patwa (5′), Ahmad Tauheed (6′, 27′), Morya Rishi (8′, 25′), Shukla Anil (15′), Solanki Jaiky (18′), and Kharatkar Sujal (22′).
