Gwalior, 28th September 2023: SAI BAL and SAI Shakti qualified for the Final of the 3rd Khelo India Junior Women’s Hockey League 2023 (Finals) in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, after winning their respective Semi-Final games on Thursday. Meanwhile, HAR Hockey Academy and HIM Academy won their respective 5/8th place play-off matches.
SAI BAL defeated Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy, Sonepat, 1-0, in the first Semi-Final of the day. Captain Sanjana Horo (60′) scored for SAI BAL, ensuring their place in the Final.
SAI Shakti defeated Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy 3-0 in the second Semi-Final. SAI Shakti advanced to the Final thanks to goals from Captain Kanika Siwach (6′), Monika Tirkey (18′), and Sukhveer Kaur (49′).
In the first match of the day, HAR Hockey Academy beat Republican Sports Club 7-3. Seema (22′, 52′), Kaafi (30′, 50′), Bhteri (2′), Pinki (6′) and Preeti (16′) scored for HAR Hockey Academy while Ritu Devi Laishram (15′), Nandini Valmiki (27′) and Eleena Devi Keisam (48′) scored for Republican Sports Club. HAR Hockey Academy thereby secured a place in the 5th place play-off.
In the second match of the day, HIM Academy beat Salute Hockey Academy 3-2. Anjni (53′, 60′) and Sallu Pukhrambam (4′) scored for HIM Academy while Pooja (29′) and Alka (54′) scored for Salute Hockey Academy. HIM Academy thereby secured a place in the 5th place play-off.
