The curtain in the Women’s Silver Cup has fallen for IJsseloever and Derby. The runners-up were eliminated Friday night in the eighth finals of the second cup tournament.
IJsseloever lost 3-0 to Phoenix in front of their own crowd. Derby, which took part as a replacement for Westerpark, went down 5-2 on a visit to Alecto.
Defending champion DES keeps its hopes of prolongation alive. The team from Kaatsheuvel won an exciting away match against Nuenen 1-2. Former winners Oss (2018) and EHV (2019) were eliminated. EHV narrowly went down against Ede (2-1), while Oss lost 2-3 to HCAS.
Alkmaar, Athena and Nieuwegein also qualified for the last eight of the Silver Cup. Alkmaar needed only a single goal to eliminate AMVJ 0-1. Athena beat Zoetermeer 2-1 and Nieuwegein beat Zwart-Wit. It became 4-0.

Results catch-up matches sixth round men
On Friday evening two catch-up matches were also played in the men’s Silver Cup tournament. First division Derby and second division Shot reached the eighth finals.
The games Derby-Dordrecht and Shot-Oss had to be played after they were stopped last week. Derby was leading 5-3 against Dordrecht when the game was stopped after 55 minutes. At Shot-Oss, the home team held a 2-1 lead when the game was halted after 37 minutes.
Derby left nothing to chance in the remainder of the match and increased the margin. The team eventually won 6-3 over Dordrecht. Shot and Oss made it another exciting battle, in which Shot eventually prevailed 4-3.
Derby will visit Zwart-Wit next Friday in the eighth finals of the cup tournament. Shot takes on Union.
