Day three of the Under 18 European Championships in Swansea saw positive results for the Welsh squads.
Wales Girls faced a Turkish side determined to rectify yesterday’s 4-1 defeat to Poland. Whilst Wales Boys made their debut performance against an impressive Italian side.
Wales girls secured their first win of the tournament with a thrilling 4-0 victory with fantastic goals from Freya Diamond, Olivia Forey, Jemima Robinson and Emily Hersch.
Welsh goalkeeper Mia James also made some critical saves to keep the Turkish at bay.
They boys faced a difficult test in Italy with two evenly matches sides. The game was feisty and full of cards but a lapse in Wales’ performance saw Italy take the lead in the final 30 seconds of the third quarter through Jonah Carelli.
