Canada’s U18 Team Takes on Scottish and Welsh Junior Teams
The U18 Junior Women’s National Team is organized on a year-to-year basis for tours and tournaments as scheduled by Field Hockey Canada High Performance direction. The Women’s U18 Junior National Team is composed primarily of members of the FHC NextGen system.
The Field Hockey Canada U18 Women’s National Team is on the UK Islands this week, training and competing against youth and junior national teams from Scotland and Wales. The Canadian team is comprised of athletes from BC, Alberta, and Ontario. The U18 program is a part of Field Hockey Canada’s high performance pipeline, building from Targeted Athletes, through U16 and U17 into U18 and then the Junior National Team. All these streams are working to produce athletes that will be eligible for senior national team play within 5-8 years.
