National coach Raoul Ehren has selected 22 players for the first official international matches of this calendar year. Jansen and Moes will get rest to recover from their participation in the Hockey India League, which they won with their club Odisha Warriors. They will rejoin the training group in March. So will Mette Winter, Babette Backers, Sofie ter Kuile and Imke Verstraeten. The last three players were not selected for the Pro League trip to India. Winter is currently recovering from an injury and will not travel to India for that reason.

Elzemiek Zandee (SCHC) is no longer part of the training group. Also still missing from the team are Xan de Waard (SCHC) and Maria Verschoor (Amsterdam). Both took a step back after the successful Games in Paris.

The Dutch will play England in India on Feb. 21-22 and the host country on Feb. 24-25. The Netherlands last played against England at the 2023 European Championships. In Mönchengladbach, the Orange Ladies won 7-0 in the semifinals. India was defeated twice last season in the FIH Pro League (1-0 and 3-1).
