Round nineteen is on the menu this weekend in the Tulp Hoofdklasse, with the women’s side a great match between Den Bosch and Kampong as well as a crucial duel between tail teams Huizen and HDM. In the men’s division, the eyes are on the toppers Bloemendaal – Oranje-Rood and Amsterdam – Kampong. All matches will be broadcast live by Viaplay.
The topper between number two Bloemendaal and Oranje-Rood is scheduled for Saturday, 18:30. The Eindhoveners (sixth with 31 points from eighteen duels) are still in the race for the playoffs and want to keep close rivals Rotterdam and Kampong under pressure. However, it will not be easy to return from Bloemendaal with three points: only one of the sixteen meetings between them ended in an Eindhoven victory, and that also happened eight years ago.
We will be at ‘t Kopje on Saturday with a reporter and photographer to see if Oranje-Rood manages to win at Bloemendaal for the first time. We will also bring a liveblog of this match, so you don’t have to miss any of the action. The NOS will choose Amsterdam-Kampong on Sunday. You can watch a summary of that game from 18:10 on NPO1 and on the online NOS channels.
Sunday
On Sunday we shift our attention to the Tulip Hoofdklasse Dames, where we will be along the line from 16:00 at the basement cracker Huizen-HDM. Huizen is the straggler with five points after 18 rounds of play, HDM is 11th with five more points. For both teams, a win at this stage of the season is not desirable, but purely necessary.
Earlier on Sunday, Den Bosch and Kampong take on each other. If the Utrechters still want to have a chance at playoff tickets, they will have to win at the Oosterplas. They last managed to do so in April 1997, at a time when the then eleven-year-old Jantje Smit dominated the charts with Ik zing dit lied voor jou alleen. Kampong can take heart from its recent form: coach Kai de Jager’s team is unbeaten since the winter break (W4 G1) and scored the most goals of any team in 2025 (22).
Promotion Class
Also in the Promotion Class, we visit an important duel in the lower regions. Our reporter will watch Breda-MOP, numbers eleven and twelve in the league, from 12:45 pm. The straggler from Vught is longing for a good result, after eight defeats in a row. Breda could also use another success: the team lost four of its last five games and only managed one point.
Stories on Instagram
Not only on the website and in the app you can follow this weekend’s field hockey, we also report on a number of games on instagram. In the big league on Sunday we will be in the corner of the field at Amsterdam – Oranje-Rood (women) and then at Amsterdam-Kampong (men). A day earlier we report on two matches in the National Youth on Gooische: first we witness JO16 against Kampong’s peers, and then you can follow the game between MO18 and Phoenix MO18. Friday evening we cover the cup duel between the men from Horn and Wageningen, in the quarterfinals for the Silver Cup.
