Asia: Bahrain and UAE sign MoU on sports cooperation

Back

Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have signed an agreement aimed at enhancing sports cooperation between the two countries.

The President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairman of the General Sports Authority, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the UAE’s Minister of Education and Chairman of the General Sports Authority, Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding earlier this month.

BOC President Shaikh Khalid, who is also the first deputy chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, said: “We are pleased to sign a memorandum of understanding with the UAE which will contribute to the exchange of expertise and enhance collaboration to advance the sports sector on many levels.

“The UAE is experiencing significant developments in various sectors, including sports, thanks to the support of the UAE President His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” Shaikh Khalid added.

Dr. Al Falasi praised the bilateral relations and the developments of the sports sector in both countries, affirming the commitment to fostering sports excellence, boosting cooperation and supporting sporting talent in both countries at regional and international levels.
