Asia: Day 6: China Defeats Malaysia 3-1 to Secure a Spot in the Final of the Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024

In the first semi-final of the Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024, China delivered a clinical performance, defeating Malaysia 3-1 to advance to the final. T showcased China’s tactical brilliance and composure under pressure, earning them a well-deserved place in the championship clash.

First Half: A Tight Start with Malaysia Striking First

The game began with high intensity as both teams looked to seize control. Malaysia drew first blood in the opening quarter when Fatin Shafika scored a brilliant field goal, surprising the Chinese defense and giving her team an early 1-0 lead.

China, however, quickly regrouped and began to dominate possession. Their persistence paid off in the second quarter when Li Yang converted a penalty corner with a powerful flick, leveling the score at 1-1. The first half ended with both teams locked in a fierce contest.

Second Half: China’s Dominance Prevails

China came out stronger in the second half, displaying superior ball control and tactical execution. In the third quarter, Zhang Mei gave China the lead with a well-placed field goal, capitalizing on a defensive lapse by Malaysia.

Malaysia attempted to fight back, but China’s defense, led by goalkeeper Liu Ping, held firm. In the final quarter, Wang Na sealed the victory for China with another penalty corner conversion, extending the scoreline to 3-1.
