australia 2023 hockey australia u18 championships begin tomorrow 649e8c094cab4 - Australia: 2023 Hockey Australia U18 Championships begin tomorrow - Australia’s best hockey talent at U18 level have converged on Hobart for this year’s Australian U18 Championships.

Australia’s best hockey talent at U18 level have converged on Hobart for this year’s Australian U18 Championships.

Close to 500 players, coaches and support staff will be involved in the event that will run from 1-9 July at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre.

Both the women’s and men’s competitions will be hotly contested, with Western Australia Gold looking to defend their Men’s title, while Queensland Gold will attempt to go back-to-back in the Women’s.

“The FIH Pro League mini tournament held back in February and last year’s national Under 13 Carnival has shown Hobart hosts successful and enjoyable hockey events and this year’s Under 18 Championships will be no different,” said Hockey Australia CEO David Pryles.

“For there to be 12 teams in both the Men’s and Women’s competitions with every state and territory represented is testament to the popularity and depth of hockey at this age level.”

“The tournament serves as a platform and stepping stone for future Kookaburras and Hockeyroos to showcase their talent on a national stage. It promises to be a fantastic event.”

The 2023 Hockey Australia U18 Championships are supported by the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania.

Every match of the U18 Championships will be streamed on LIVEHockey.
