David Pryles, CEO Hockey Australia says this is a milestone moment for the sport.
“We are incredibly proud to be the first sport in Australia to adopt AI technology for our streaming services. Past livehockey.com.au audience numbers have shown the hockey community has an appetite for watching the sport’s talent across all ages and areas of the country. We wanted to satisfy this need by investing in the latest technology to keep up with the fast-paced nature of the game via a one-stop user-friendly shop for friends, fans, and family to enjoy.
“The AI-camera technology, combined with an all-new look platform showcases our commitment to the digital pillar of our Strategic Plan, which aims to enhance the fan experience.”
“An initial trial version of the platform was setup in January this year for the Indoor National Championships event in Canberra. We are now at a point where we can showcase the rest of the events, which together form the backbone of the Hockey Australia pathway.”
Mark Hardess, CEO Sportway Australia says the AI technology is a significant leap forward in sports broadcasting innovation.
“Our commitment to pushing the boundaries aligns seamlessly with Hockey Australia’s vision for delivering an exceptional fan experience.”
“Through our advanced technology and AI capabilities, liveHockey.com.au will become the ultimate destination for hockey enthusiasts, capturing the essence of every match in a way never seen before.”
