Mannheimer Hockey Club will welcome Australian national player Alice Arnott to its ranks for the upcoming field hockey season.

The New South Wales woman has been a vital player for the Hockeyroos, playing in the 2024 Park Olmypics, and with both NSW Pride and Canberra Chill in the Hockey One league while she also played in Europe with Klein Zwitserland in 2022.

Arnott’s connection to the Mannheim Hockey Club goes back much further; 12 years ago, she visited Mannheim with the Australian Under-16 national team.

“I still remember how impressed I was with the club. Everyone was so friendly and the facilities were fantastic,” said Arnott.

In recent years, she has closely followed the MHC’s development: “The successes in the Bundesliga and the EHL have shown the high level of play here. I’ve always been convinced that this is a great team to be a part of. I’m looking forward to developing further here and contributing to the team’s success.”

MHC’s Nicklas Benecke added: “With Alice, we have secured our desired new signing for the attack, who will add extra quality and penetration to our offensive play. At the same time, her international experience and mentality will enrich our culture and help us progress further as a team.”

She adds to the arrival of Iris Langejans from Rotterdam as Mannheim look to build on their EHL bronze medal this season.

On the men’s side, Mannheim have added Spanish player Marc Bolto from Rotterdam.
