The International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the global hockey family are joining the celebration of Olympic Day 2024 by embracing the IOC’s “Let’s Move and Celebrate” campaign. This year, Olympic Day is all about inspiring people to get active and celebrate the Olympic spirit through movement. FIH is encouraging hockey fans and players worldwide to participate and share their own creative moves on social media using the hashtag #LetsMove and tagging @olympics.
“Let’s Move and Celebrate” invites everyone to engage in physical activity, regardless of age or fitness level, fostering a sense of community and connection. By taking part, participants have the chance to see their favorite Olympians replicate their moves, further highlighting the inclusive and unifying power of sport.
FIH is proud to support this initiative, aligning with its mission to promote health and fitness through hockey harnessing its universal power to bring people together and create a global celebration of fitness, fun, and the Olympic spirit. With a focus on inclusivity and participation, the campaign is a reminder that movement is for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or fitness level.
FIH President Tayyab Ikram said: “As proud members of the Olympic movement, we have been promoting Olympic Day since its inception. This year is no exception to this, and even more so, since 2024 is an Olympic year and we are only a month away from the next Olympiad! Therefore, I can only reiterate my appeal to the global hockey community to put in place initiatives in their communities to urge everyone to engage in sport activities. The objectives of IOC’s “Let’s Move and Celebrate” campaign, inviting everyone to embrace the joy of movement ahead of Paris 2024 for better mental and physical health, are of paramount importance, especially for the youth. On 23 June, let’s all make sure to move, and celebrate Olympic Day!”
